Tucked away in Brooksville, Maine, you'd be forgiven if you mistook Tinder Hearth for just another countryside retreat. But as we walked the flagstone path, lined with fragrant herbs and edible flowers, it became clear that this was an ode to the art of pizza.
And then there's the pizza. It's a revelation. The crust, blistered from the wood-fired oven, is perfectly chewy and crisp. The toppings, an ever-changing parade of local produce, taste of the seasonal picks from the farmer’s market.
But Tinder Hearth is more than its pizzas. Salads, fresh from the garden, burst with colors and flavors so vivid they almost eclipse their pizza partners.
Freshly shucked oysters, wine and beer options were available - with classic soft serve for dessert.
The space is very family friendly, but leave your dogs at home.
Would I drive the winding roads to Brooksville just for a pizza? In a heartbeat. Because Tinder Hearth isn't just about pizza. It's about celebrating Maine, one slice at a time.
This place is worth the drive. I am headed i to a carb and coffee coma in a pure state of bliss. Photos attached.
Caution! If you get a to-go order, check your bag before you leave. We were short one ham and cheese croissant.
I live in the area and this still felt like driving to the middle of nowhere. But the yard and barn are adorable and the pizza is really good. Oyr son loved playing on the sandbox while we ate delicious pizza.
This place is totally worth the drive!! It won the best restaurant for 2023 by The NY Times and this is why we chose it.
From the moment we drove onto the lot (limited parking), to walking up to the romantic lit barns/field, to finding a table that felt like home, to eating a gormet salad and scrumptious pizza, We found a GEM!!
You’ve got to make this a MUST-STOP while in the area. Totally worth the drive!!
The best almond croissant I’ve ever had. Mamas w/ kiddos sitting on the wide plank floors gathering on a rainy Sunday morning. Dreamlike atmosphere. Pastry of the day was blueberry lemon cream croissant, still drooling.
Incredible. The best pizza I’ve ever had. Ultra-fresh, creative topping combinations. A fantastic environment for families. It’s a destination.
I am visiting a friend that lives in Blue Hill. She was kind enough to let me in on this local spot. The outdoor dining, out amongst the vegetable gardens is beyond scenic. The pizza is on another level. Just amazing. Everything about this place is perfect. The super friendly staff make you feel like you are at a family picnic. The food is way better than a family picnic. Be sure to save room for the organic soft serve with freshly made, lacey sugar cones. Need I say more?
*They also have a bakery. Again, amazing *
Wonderful bakery and gardens with pizza on certain nights. The pizza was fantastic. You should call ahead a few days in advance to reserve your pizzas for the night they will have them. They have picnic tables and you can get salads and drinks like wine, beer and water. The croutons on the salads were spectacular! Dessert was ice cream chocolate chip cookie sandwiches that were amazing...the ice cream was so good! The staff was super nice and friendly. This place is truly special.
